Broward Child Care Food Program

Family Central is contracted with the Florida Department of Health as a sponsor for the USDA Child Care Food Program to sponsor licensed family child care homes in Broward and Palm Beach counties and child care centers in Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, Martin and St. Lucie counties.

The goal of this valuable program is to ensure that nutritious meals and snacks are served and that good eating habits are taught in child care settings.

The Child Care Food Program (CCFP) is an equal opportunity provider.

What are the benefits of participating in the CCFP?

  • Children receive nutritious meals.
  • Providers receive valuable reimbursement money to help with their meal costs.
  • Reimbursement rates are adjusted every year by the funder.
  • Technical assistance is available to providers to help them get started and is ongoing throughout the year.
  • Food and nutrition training is available to providers for in-service credit at no cost to the provider.
  • Approved menus are provided taking the worry out of menu planning.
  • Child care centers can use a state approved caterer who will prepare and deliver meals and disposable paper products daily.
