Welcome C-QuELL Parents

An Initiative of Family Central, Inc. and the City of Sunrise
Funded by The W.K. Kellogg Foundation

A Special Invitation for Sunrise Parents Who Want to Make a Difference For Their Children

Through a grant from the WK Kellogg Foundation, Family Central, in partnership with the City of Sunrise, is developing a Community of Quality Early Learning and Literacy (C-QuELL).

Together, parents, corporations, locally-owned small businesses, faith-based organizations, elementary schools, and other key stakeholders use their knowledge of the City, their commitment to Sunrise’s young families, their access to resources, and their perspectives on the potential of children and families; to address early learning challenges faced by parents, child care teachers, and children.

Seven Sunrise child care centers receive professional mentoring and on-site coaching to maximize teachers’ skills, improve parent engagement, and provide developmentally-appropriate, enriching learning experiences for the children.

To help us redefine the ways the community sees and supports you and your young children, we are inviting parents of children under the age of five, who care about the early learning opportunities for their children, to join the C-QuELL Team.

Share your perspectives and ideas -- Become a member of the Advisory

The Advisory is central to the success of C-QuELL. Your voice is very important to us.  You will become part of an active community conversation about the education of your children. You will join other parents, school principals, business and faith-based leaders to share your perspectives and your ideas about ways we can have the greatest impact on early learning in Sunrise. It is with your advice that we will be able to shape C-QuELL activities to best engage parents, involve the community, support the child care centers, and create opportunities to enrich your child’s education.

The Advisory meets four times a year for two hours. If you are interested in lending your voice and guiding our process, please click here to obtain an Advisory application.
