This Training Satisfies the Requirements for
DCF Early Literacy Training
This training is a requirement for child care personnel in facilities, large family child care homes and family day care homes to complete 5 hours or 0.5 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) of approved training in early literacy and language development of children from birth to 5 years of aged. This is a one time requirement.
The primary focus of "Early Literacy for Children Age Birth to Three" is to demonstrate how child care professionals can use everyday activities to provide experiences that will prepare this age group to read and write in the future.
Participants must adhere to the attendance policies, complete all assignments satisfactorily, actively participate during training sessions and meet all financial obligations to receive a certificate of completion.
- Participants missing more than 15 minutes of total training time will NOT receive a certificate of completion or receive and CEUs
- Partial CEUs or in service hours cannot be offered
- The training will begin and end promptly
- Late/absent participants may be able to make up the class in another session
PLEASE BE PREPARED TO ARRIVE ON TIME AND STAY UNTIL THE END OF THE TRAINING
Upon successful completion of this training, the participant will earn 5 clock hours (0.5 CEUs) of training in early childhood education/child development.
